Weekend Itinerary: What to do in St. Petersburg, FL

“Love where you live” has a whole new meaning when you live here in sunny St. Petersburg, FL!! Putting itineraries together is seriously one of my favorite things to do (if I could go back to the 80’s and be a professional travel planner, I would). With so much to do in Tampa Bay, it’s easy to get overwhelmed with what to do or where to take guests.

When my bestie from college visited a few weeks back, this was our weekend itinerary and you can easily tweak it for when you have visitors or are looking for something to do in downtown St. Pete! Don’t worry, Tampa version (and many more recommendations) coming soon!

Friday Night

I always like to start the weekend off with happy hour, a fun dinner and drinks at unique St. Pete locations! We kicked our weekend off in the Grand Central District @grandcentralsp with:

  • Boat cocktails and live music at @trophyfishstpete – Trophy Fish is one of my favorite places to go for upscale casual drinks because it’s a VIBE! There’s usually live music playing on the weekends and you can’t go wrong with their boat cocktails! My favorite is the Salty Dog, a delicious grapefruity vodka number.
  • Dinner at @wildchild_stpete – Wild Child is a newer restaurant in the Grand Central District with a beautiful outdoor patio area. It’s usually busy, so make sure you have a reservation!
  • *Sinful* fancy drinks at @thesaintstpete – This new “sinner” themed speakeasy is a treat! It’s perfect for a unique experience and delicious unique cocktails named after the 7 deadly sins. Be sure to check their ig story for the week’s password to get in.

Saturday

On Saturday, take your guest(s) out to enjoy our beautiful Florida weather and do something active in the morning (because you can’t drink like.. the whole time ????)

  • Breakfast Sammy’s from @petes_general – There are two different locations, both equally delicious!! My favorite is the salt bagel with bacon, egg, cheese and avocado!
  • Clear kayaking at Sand Key with @getupandgotampabay – This was SUCH a fun experience, the clear kayaks show off the beautiful water we have in the bay. There are multiple locations you can kayak from, but we chose Sand Key because it was the most convenient!
  • Lunch at the beach – After all that kayaking, you’re bound to be hungry! There are plenty of beach bars and restaurants on Pass-a-Grille or St. Pete beach to check out.
  • Relax and regroup – Head home, shower and maybe take a quick snooze.
  • Dinner and drinks on Beach Drive at @stillwaterstavern or @canopyatbirchwood and the Pier @pierteaki – I love to take guests to this area of St. Pete because it’s always bustling with people and live music!

Sunday

Funday obviously!! Depending on when your guests leave, make sure to take them to brunch and maybe a few breweries!

You can always tweak this to include your favorite spots around town, but this should give you a good outline of what to see and do!! What are your favorite places to take visitors??
